The first Nicklaus golf course in Portugal
Two magnificent 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses are planned at Monte Rei Resort, Algarve, with the northern golf course open for play in 2007, and the souther course already in the design stage.
Monte Rei, the first of these unique championship golf courses, features no less than 5 lakes, surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, rich with indigenous trees and plants.
An expected masterpiece
Award winning golf designer and legend, Jack Nicklaus has created a golfing masterpiece, the first of his “Signature Courses” to reach the Algarve & Portugal, and one of very few in Europe. The par 72 championship course plays over 6500 metres, meandering over gentle hills and valleys, in what Nicklaus believes “a great setting with awesome views”. Monte Rei golf course presentation is highly individual, from the shape of the holes, the cut of the bunkering, to the scrupulous attention to detail, making each hole as remarkable as the next.
